Exosomes are naturally occurring though, and must be extracted from some sort of body tissue. This is ethically sourced from human adipose tissues that were safely and legally donated. Cleanroom grade of the cell processing/cultivation facility is Class 1B (Class 10,000) or higher. So where this is created is very safe. Other safety concerns might be regarding human DNA? There is not DNA present in an exosome AAPE. Only the naturally secreted proteins are collected with the exosomes. All cellular debris is eliminated. There are many rigorous tests that are performed for the safety of use. Exosomes are non-immunogenic and SAFE as topical treatments.

How do I use this if it is a powder? 

This will need to be incorporated INTO another serum or saline solution. Please avoid acids or any very low pH products.

USAGE OPTION 1: EXO-AD powder can be blended with your favorite 1oz. serum and used as a daily product. Simple to mix. Add a small amount of your serum into the powder and shake to dissolve. Pour into final container, shake fully and store in Beauty Fridge. *Do NOT mix with acids.

OPTION 2: For a concentrated infusion, add up to 4ml of Distilled water, Saline Solution or another applicable serum into the EXO-AD bottle. Shake and allow the powder to dissolve. Use immediately, refrigerate the remainder. If you are needling, you will use most of this at the time of treatment, but may have some left for the next few days during healing.

Yes! A 12-week study was conducted to evaluate the effectiveness of combining HACS (human adipose tissue stem cell-derived exosome-containing solution) and microneedling to treat facial skin aging - including: Overall skin improvement, wrinkles, elasticity, skin hydration, skin pigmentation, and collagen/elastin histopathologic evaluation . The study was approved by the Institutional Review Board and followed ethical guidelines. Participants provided consent and received three treatment sessions, spaced three weeks apart, with a six-week follow-up. During each session, HACS and microneedling were applied to one side of the face, while the other side received microneedling with saline as a control. Treatments were randomly assigned to each side of the face.

Twenty-eight participants, all over 40 years old, were enrolled. The sample size was determined based on feasibility. Exclusion criteria included pregnancy, keloid scarring, and active skin conditions, and participants were not allowed to use other treatments like resurfacing or fillers during the study.

This study demonstrated that combined treatment with HACS application and microneedling is effective for facial skin aging. Based on the results obtained from clinical evaluation, objective measurement of various skin aging signs, and microscopic evaluation of histological changes, this combined therapy exhibited higher efficacy than that of microneedling alone. Furthermore, combining both methods was a safe treatment with tolerable side effect profiles. By the 12 week visit, 46% of the participants had an Improved status, 14% had Much Improved status, and 7% had Very Much Improved status over the standard needling with only a saline solution![2] So much benefit when adding on the EXO-AD to your needling program. 

Solar radiation, also known as UV, UVA, UBV and UVR. These are various ultraviolet radiation wavelengths from the sun. UV exposure is the major source of extrinsic skin aging, which is also known as photoaging. 

Photoaging accounts for nearly 80% of facial aging! This is why daily SPF is so important. 

It is characterized by fine wrinkles, dryness, laxity, rough texture, decreased elasticity, impaired wound healing, and benign and malignant growths.[1] In the 12 week study referenced above, the melanin index significantly decreased on the HACS side from baseline to week 12. The average decrease was 9.9%.[2]

As skin ages, its protective barrier weakens and recovers more slowly after damage. The levels of important lipids, like ceramides, decrease in the outer skin layer, leading to reduced secretion of protective lipid structures. This loss of ceramides is a key factor in the weakened skin barrier. Restoring ceramide levels could help improve this barrier. 

Additionally, ASCEs (skin exosomes) stimulate the production of genes that support the skin barrier and lipid metabolism, including the creation of new ceramides. This promotes the formation of protective structures in the skin, reduces water loss, improves skin hydration, and restores the skin's barrier function. Therefore, ASCEs likely contribute to the observed improvements in skin hydration.
