How to Use
How To Use The Alqemi Micro-Needling System
How long with a treatment take?
This is super quick. 5-7 minutes and you will be completed with your final serums on the skin.
How Often Can I Use It?
Recommended 1x every 2-4 weeks. This is a range because you may do a lighter treatment, or one that is more aggressive. Space them out as needed for your skin. Always listen and move forward when you can. Collagenase enzymes PEAK at about 14 days - NEVER be tempted to over-needle. Give your skin the time it needs to fully heal and regenerate.
Step 1: Get it ready
- Twist open ALQEMI Device.
- Open EXO-EHR or chosen Serum(s) and pour into bottle.
- Place infusion lid on and tighten.
- Turn bottle upside down and set aside.
- Wait 1-2 minutes for needles to saturate.
Step 2: While your ALQEMI Device is sitting, prepare your skin.
- If you wish to numb the skin, apply Lidocaine 20-30 minutes prior to treatment time.
- Pull hair back from face/neck.
- Cleanse skin 2x to remove all makeup and lotions.
- Sanitize your hands with an antibacterial cleanser.
How to Stamp The Micro-Needler
- Take off the lid and begin stamping. Start in the center and work outwards.
- Stamp with a 50% overlap.
- Do not apply too much pressure. The device is set to stop at 0.5mm depth.
- Do not stamp on the eyelids or get closer than the orbital bone.
- Do not stamp on active breakouts as this could spread the bacteria.
Leftover Serum
Apply within 15-20 minutes of starting micro-infusion for best penetration. Take any excess serum from the device and pat onto your face and neck. Leave serum overnight.
Disposal/Storage
Once your treatment is complete, place the lid back on the needle head. Twist off and safely dispose in the garbage. *The sanitized needle head should only be used once. Wash and store the ALQEMI device (bottle) in a safe, dry area. *Sanitize bottle with alcohol before the next use or use a new device.
After treatment
- You may use Illuminate LED Mask before or after micro-infusion. Redness and sensitivity or irritation is normal.
- Wash 2x per day. Moisturize and apply SPF.
- Avoid retinoids and strong leave-on acids for 3+ days.
- Do not swim or use steam room for 24 hours.
- Do not do exercise that will cause sweating for 24 hours.
- Do not touch your face with dirty hands.
- Wait a minimum of 2-4 weeks before performing any other modalities (IPL, peels, lasers, etc...).

Let's start with the TRUTH, shall we? Our needles are not as "thin as a human hair". Where this came from is beyond us. A human hair is between 0.03 and 0.06mm. A needle root diameter is 0.25mm and just the very tip is 0.013. So the "tip" can fall into the human hair range ... but, it is the entire needle root that is penetrating - and we WANT that width. Collagen Induction Therapy uses needles - 30 of them, to be exact - and if you do not like needles, you may be a bit apprehensive.
This is understandable, but keep in mind. Even with the most sensitive skin, there is always a way! Just like with a chemical peel, if you don't like the feeling, you can use a numbing cream before applying it to minimize irritations.
I find this very tolerable on most of the face, and really just a bit more sensitive above the upper lip and near the orbital area (by the eyes).
If you want to get a good treatment in and go over areas a couple of times! Use the 5% Lidocaine that we have to make this a super comfortable!
Can I do a peel and then Micro Infusion? Or, Infuse and then a peel? That is a no! A chemical peel is meant to reach a certain depth. We do not want to push it farther into the skin that it should go. Please never combine these practices. Instead, you can:

Can I mix EXO-AD with the EXO-EHR?
Yes. You may absolutely use the EHR Elixir to reconstitute the AD powder.
Can I mix EXO-PDRN with the EXO-EHR and/or EXO-AD?
Yes! You may absolutely mix these products together for your needling usage. Mix one, two or three of them as you wish. You will generally want to add just a small amount of each serum into the ALQEMI Tool. Leave any remaining serums in their original containers, seal, and then use another day
Can I use vitamin C with my ALQEMI Micro Infusion Suite?
No. Never needle with vitamin C. It can cause granulomas (lumps) under the skin or an orange-peel texture.
Can I use Multi-Serum 15 or 30 with my ALQEMI Micro Infusion Suite?
No. Never needle with a strong acid. It can cause granulomas (lumps) under the skin or an orange-peel texture.
Can I micro infuse places other than my face?
Absolutely! There are really no limits to where else you can use this device. Keep in mind that your neck/décolleté area can be thinner and/or more reactive. So always be gentle if you choose to needle in an area that is sensitive.
When will I start to see results?
Patience is key with any treatment in which Real Changes are happening. You may see an initial improvement. This is just inflammation in the skin though, temporarily making things seem plumper/tighter. Give your skin at least 30-60 days. Collagen and elastin production takes time. Always take a photo so you can compare month by month. This will keep you excited and on track with your series.
What is a 50% overlap?
This means, every time you stamp, you move over 1/2 of that diameter and then stamp again. Every time you stamp - each spot is actually getting done twice. We get better coverage of the face in this manner, and you will get better results.
How many times can I go over my face?
You can go over your face 2-3 times if you wish. You can also just choose to focus more on key problem spots after a single full-face application.
The serum isn't coming out, what should I do?
Just give a few presses and the liquid should start flowing easily - as long as you let it sit 2 minutes prior to starting. You will notice that when you are doing a side area or under the chin, the bottle isn't necessarily facing the right way to release serum. You can angle your head to the side a bit or use your finger to spread a bit extra serum where you are to needle in a "less than easy" area. No worries.
Can I needle the eye area?
We are always concerned with the eyes, which are thinner and more sensitive. Try to stay outside the orbital bone. The skin is a bit thicker around the crow's feet, though, just remain very focused and do not go over more than 1-2x so your skin is not excessively irritated.
How many treatments will I get from this box?
There are six tools and six needle heads. Each needle is sterile and meant to be used a single time only. If you are doing a single treatment per month, then you will have 6 months' worth of usage here. We have our ALQEMI Replacement Kit if you would like just to purchase another tool and 6 needles, or you may buy multiple of this kit for future usage.
If I am prone to cold sores, can I do microneedling?
As with peels or any treatment that can cause injury to the skin, using your prescription for 2-5 days before treatment is necessary.
After treatment, should I use an LED mask to calm inflammation and erythema (redness)?
Reducing excess irritation and swelling can be very beneficial by using an LED mask after needling. LED will not trigger any responses from the skin and is, therefore a very safe option after needling.
Can I shave after treatment?
It is best to wait 5 or more days to shave the face after micro-infusion.
Will needling cause more hair to grow on my face?
Needling is not a viable treatment for receding hairline, face, or legs... It can be beneficial only on the scalp.
Can I needle areas where I have implants/injections?
It is not recommended and could cause granulomas.
If I had melanoma in the past, but I'm clear now, can I microneedle?
No. It is not recommended.
How quickly will I see results?
Time is needed to remodel and build collagen. It will take at least 3 months to see true changes in the skin. Photos are imperative. Before, and then 1x each month for comparison.
Will micro-infusion help under eye circles?
No.
Is it ok to micro-infuse under the eye area?
Yes! The under-eyes are generally the first area where aging is apparent. Always try to gently pull the skin downwards (over the orbital bone) and hold taut when needling this area for safety.
Will needling help with milia?
No.
How long will it take for the microchannels to close on the skin?
Most of the channels will be closed within 15 minutes. It is crucial to complete the infusion process and apply after-care products within this time frame for best results.
How much of the product will penetrate the skin during the Infusion session?
Our skin is a barrier. Daily products allow around 2-7% penetration. When needling, this jumps up to 80+%. Needling can be a KEY transformation when targeting aging skin and other issues. Its benefits are profound.
Can micro-infusion help with hyperpigmentation in the skin?
Needling is known to help increase the overall health of the skin. This can include reducing UV damage.
