What’s Your Day Plan? Morning Skin Care Tips

Do you have an actual plan for daily skincare or do you just use some of this and that and hope the products figure it out?
Having a goal and specific plans for your skin will get you to your goal of better skin more quickly. Even if you are satisfied with your skin, you might like to follow some of these basic ideas to preserve what you like about your skin and improve any “could be better” issues.
First, start your day with clean and hydrated skin. When you get out of bed, drink a full glass of water; this is good for your entire body, not just your skin. Keep drinking water all day; many of us simply don’t drink enough for optimal health.
Cleanse with warm water and rinse with cold water to close your pores. For extra exfoliation power, try the Basics 3-in-1 Cleanser with fruit acids and scrubbing beads.
If you shower in the morning, try to finish with a cold-water rinse to wake you up—at least on your face if not your full body. Pat skin dry and follow with a great moisturizer like the great-for-all-skin-types B Complex—Vitamin B Cream.
Don’t forget to use sunscreen for all-day protection from the sun and man-made lights (studies in recent years has revealed that indoor light can cause some light-exposure damage, too!). Check out the Cotz sunscreens—they won’t clog your pores and will protect your skin from all kinds of light damage (the number one cause of skin aging and skin cancer).
Get your blood circulating: If you haven’t the time or inclination to exercise in the mornings, at least take a few minutes to take a few deep breaths and stretch to get your blood and energy circulating. This is good for your entire body and will bring some natural color to your face.
Eat a great breakfast: Protein with whole fruit, such as yogurt or eggs or a protein drink plus an apple, orange or peach. Protein powders are a super way to get a lot of oomph in a low-calorie way and studies have shown how important protein is to give you sustained energy and natural sugars with fiber in fruit provide vitamins and a metabolic boost. Bananas are not the best choice of fruit, and fruit juice is not counted as whole fruit!
Brighten your eyes. Even if you don’t wear makeup, having bright, clear eyes will brighten your whole face. Use moisturizing drops such as Bausch and Lomb’s Soothe drops, or one with redness-reliever like those made by Visine and apply a little concealer on the upper and lower lids in a one-shade-lighter tone that your skin tone will do wonders.
One great trick used by in-the-know makeup artists: Using a flesh-colored eye-liner on the inside of your lower lid will instantly brighten your eyes and make them look more refreshed and youthful. You might need to experiment with a few to find the right shade for you; I have found colors made by Sephora and by Mac work great for me.
For more intensive eye care to address puffy morning eyes and/or dark circles, try the Eyelift Xpress. Right now, you can get that amazing product along with Platinum Eyes Restoration Therapy Cream together at a discount (click here).
Last but not least, here’s one of the easiest and quickest ways to add a *lift* to your skin and make you look better instantly: Smile! Studies have shown that smiling even if you don’t feel like it can elevate your mood by releasing feel-good hormones.
